Spring Has Arrived

I’ve been laid up on the sofa watching the Beatles Anthology all week because I finally got the dreaded bug. How fascinating to hear the Beatles talking about the Summer of Love and George Harrison talking about going from drugs to meditation. I guess as Jim Morrison said out west the collective art form has always been "getting down!" Well there are many ways to "get down," but as long as I got my music I’m ok. I feel a lot of joy and inspiration right now. Every day is a beautiful new stream of ideas. Imagine me hiding out in my sanctuary, drowning in tapes, lyrics and tracks. In the end you only need 10-12 songs on an album, but I think I’m ready to get committed!!! Cause hey...I definitely want to pop this lovely record out to you by summer! I feel like I’ve almost written 3 albums: the dark record, the light record and the desert record. And now I’m taking a little from each to give you guys some more lovely, sexy, intimate rockin’ tunes from Zoe! I thought about the song California Dreamin’ yesterday. Ahhh, California, the wide open spaces! The sunlight! The citrus fruit are ripening, and I feel like one of those little hummingbirds who are checking out every flower in the garden. I once heard my friend rock drummer, Kenny Aranoff say "you can take away the money, but you can’t take my music away from me." I watched Kenny play last week. He was sheer, undulating rhythm. Man, he’s got beat...every part of him moves with the groove.
Nothing going on but the tunes and a bit of healing!
Send me some love!

Zoe
