Sitting on a Zebra Rug, in an apartment......somewhere downtown in Soho, New York. I sat strumming a guitar and singing to myself....Oh can someone give me some free love...can’t pay your rent, my monies already spent, but give me some light and easy free love. ...I was pondering the possibility of finding, free love in New York or whether it even existed anyway even back in the 60’s...what does it take to find it? Well according to one very spunky English chick who shampooed my hair at a hair salon. It would take a flight to either London or Rome. The Love Gods of New York city do not exist!!! I asked her to qualify a Love God....she said in a great cockney accent " No Names, No Numbers....just you know some good raw love!!! no they all want to take you out wine you and dine you and get to know you’’. I did notice one very hot barman...with a tee-shirt that read "Lovers come from Detroit’’...he was also a self proclaimed recording engineer!!! Whether he was a love god I’m not sure....but he was sure he had got a friend request from me!!! Wow the power of myspace......to link us all up. I Love New York. Its just got so much soul I feel very at home there and despite the fact I was getting over a bad cough...I was happy to bundle up in 4 layers of clothes and walk around. I like to just go hang in my favorite breakfast joint Versuvios in Soho. I like sitting in the Cafe’s and just watching the people and I like how open and straight to the point New Yorkers are...Hey Sexy wanna go for a ride...reminds me of Europe...I love a place I can walk on the streets...a couple of summers ago I stayed there for 3 months so I got to know it well. I became really friendly with some of the paparazzi...especially one called Hector and we would sit and have these great philosophical debates....Id read him my poetry and he’d be like that’s great cause the people will dig it cause its real. I also went to a Ronnie Woods Art exhibition at my friend’s gallery Pop in Soho. Great to see all his images of the Rolling Stones. Sitting on a Zebra rug in a loft somewhere in soho.... a picture of Bob Dylan looking down on me what I love about New York is it full art and artist and they really.. dig the business of being an artist, I get real Inspiration there, I get turned on by all the great art and great conversations and fashion. I Did find my Love God in the form of Fabrice, a French hair stylist...who gave me the coolest hair cut....Yeh I went a bit shorter for spring. The hair cut was so good, he asked me if I would be moving to New York for him....If your in New York Fabrice Rocks at the Fredrick Faikai Salon......say Zoe sent you .So hope you all had a good spring break...What did you all do !!!?My recommendations in New York to see Soho artist, the main drags are lined with artist West Broadway and Prince. I bought a cool photo which read "Don’t Work See the World". The Mercer hotel restaurant does great café latte and there is always some one interesting to chat too. Versuvios the oldest bakery in New York on Prince Street. John Lennon Imagine memorial sight in central park. The Poets walk in central park, simply eternal. The Bowery Ballroom for great rock music...take a trip to the big apple simply inspirational ZOE
