Art of Living Course
What can I say of the Art of Living Course and Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
The " Guru of joy".
I never thought I'd get a Guru. I like to find my own spiritual path I am a free spirit and highly suspicious of joining anything that says its going to teach me , "the way" .
I was approached at Two Bunch Palms ,(in Desert Hot Springs,CA), by a young Indian man He said that The Art of Living course was looking for an artist to tour for them and me with my blissful lyrics and pure heart would be perfect. They had approached U2 very strongly . So I thought what the heck ? and I did a Part 1 course.
It's a subtle program of breathing techniques , the idea being that a depressed mind will be constantly drawn to negative thought butt if we revive our minds and our bodies with two twenty minute breathing sessions a day we can live a more blissful life. There are so many great things I have found about the process.
I am inclined to over do it . However I have found that if I do the breath work everyday, I can really manage stress. If your going through a grieving process, for the death of a relationship or something important it really helps (exams, career leaps... ).
We are inclined to obsessively think when we are in pain and rather than feel the pain and let it pass through us we have many avoidance mechanisms like smoking and drinking , compulsive shopping and bad love stories.
These techniques are really helping me open up as a person and an artist . I would recommend Art of Living courses to everyone on Planet Earth who wants to be more in touch with themselves and the rest of humanity.
I did Part 2 over Thanksgiving , a five day course , three of which are spent in silence . Probably for the first time in my life a real chance to get in touch with my soul and clear away all the man-made stresses, desires, obsessions and get back to the divine nature of all things. For we are all divine , all a piece of Great Spirit or God .
Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has come up with a way to teach us our birth right , happiness and freedom.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will celebrate his twenty-fifth anniversary of Art of Living in India in February . Two million people will get together to breath.
