Music, Sex and Poetry

The video shoot was awesome . We all arrived at a tiny motel way out in the Mojave desert in Pioneer Town on a Saturday evening . I meditated and hit the sack , I knew if I was going to look beautiful at four am , I wasn't exactly going to be dancing the night away at the cowboy bar next door with the rest of the crew. I slept good and Lilias , the producer woke me up as planned at 4 am .I said a quick prayer to great Creator and then I was off down to make-up. Natalie Miller who is a phenomenal make up artist was up and awake.
"Wanna grab an omelet before we start ?" she said . Yes sure enough there was a table full of delicious food being cooked outside in the dark desert morning. Then we began, the familiar dark smoky eyes which I love to have, reminiscent of Cleo/Bardot/ or any of the other sirens . She commented on how great I looked , how centered I seemed , which made me feel really happy . She said 'yeah you look even younger than the last time I saw you a year and a half a go'. I said , "It's all the yoga , meditation and having great people around me'.
Suddenly LIlias appeared and said 'Five minutes' . Natalie said "It's always like this they want you to look stunning and they want to give me five minutes to finish your make up , I've learnt to just take my time ".she said . I realized we would be partners in crime for the day. I felt great ,really centered and ready for my day which, Jim the director had said ,was 'going to be a work out .'The kind of work out I like, with my stratocaster !
We drove along a desert road , Robinson in the back seat ,he was on documenting the whole thing and me and my sister started explaining the vision behind "Planet Love".
It was great my idea of a brilliant day , early desert light, a bunch of thoroughly creative people all pulling together to create a piece of art that celebrates life. I felt like it was a great moment in time , a materialization of the truth that I had discovered . I felt like I was being initiated into a tribe of other artists who had also sort the truth and made happen there dreams .We drove along a desert road and there they all were , "The Crew". About fifteen of them and two lorries , cameras ready to shoot . Prop guys , art director ,Poodle,the DP (director of photography), Steve the stills photography , Kelly ,Lilias's assistant and in the middle of them all Director, Jim Wright , with his great groovy good vibes. I really like Jim he's thoroughly creative , he's also got this way lay back kind of feel which works for me, because there's nothing to get het up about. I knew he would frame me in the kind of iconoclastic shots he had done shooting the stills for my album cover .
The first shot was a wide shot with me walking , it was beautiful out there , first sun light , the sand glistened as I hiked along a desert road , all the cameras on me. I love being in front of the camera , I'm just totally happy and relaxed , it was kind of like what I was born to do . It's kind of like another form of poetry , body poetry . Shot after shot went real smooth , we covered three locations with a lunch break at "Pappy and Harriet's' famous cowboy restaurant . In the afternoon all the big action happened. I'm not going to tell you the story line because I want the video to be a big surprise for you guys ,we all worked real hard to bring you a piece of magic . It was a great treat for me to be filming my Planet Love video out in the desert where I wandered around bare foot and came up with the words. It was like life had come full circle and the universe was cheering me on.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful "Happy Birthday " wishes . I had the best birthday ever !

It started with me sitting in bed ,with my Martin guitar singing Happy Birthday to myself . I was improvising the lines and chanting everything that I thought is wonderful and worth celebrating about me . I have this feeling this year is going to be an extraordinarily wonderful year !
Then my sister arrived , she said:
" Come on get Love the dog, we're going on your magic birthday trail . 'Love' will lead the way '.
Love had a balloon tied to her , she's a Weimaraner with a big attitude . Up above my house there are some wonderful trails, one of which climbs up a steep hillside to an absolutely awesome view . Victoria had done something magical , a balloon trail, and on each balloon she had written an inspirational thought from an iconic writer or historical figure.

It started on the first balloon which said :
"A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step ". I thought to myself 'It's gonna be a great year from that moment on !' On each balloon a new inspiration , "Don't give up , make your own trail!" "Follow your bliss" and at the top of the hill a balloon read , "Joseph Campbell would be proud" and at that I burst into tears . Joseph Campbell is one of my all time heroes, it was he who was fundamental in influencing my sister and I to go on this wild beautiful journey across the world to make music. He said , "Live your bliss". And so we did ! It was very poiniant to find myself at the top of a hill on the west coast of America ,with a russian hat on, and a bottle of Champagne in my hand ,tears streaming down my face . I had an incredible sense of what a journey I had been on , how far I’d come and what a triumph it all was , AND how amazing the way ahead will be.
My sister and I talked about the journey, she slurped the champagne and then I slurped the champagne and then we laughed and I cried some more . And she said "Your amazing you re like no other person , I have ever met ", so I felt so happy , so clear about who I am and where I am going.Then she left me to contemplate my life;s journey .
Then an extraordinary thing happened . Two people came out of the bushes , a man , and a woman both with long blonde hair , looking completely angelic. 'Love it a birthday blessing', I thought, and they loved it too., especially the fur hat in the hot L.A. sun !So the three of us stood round swigging champagne , they sang Happy Birthday , then all three of us sang Planet Love and then a rendition of Jim Morisson's;s song "Wild love'.,which I have always identified with .Then the girl who was called Alex, who was really quite magical said she wanted to do a ceremony on me, she wanted me to envision everything that the year ahead would bring and her and her boyfriend Aaron would help release it into the universe for it to manifest .
An awesome spontaneous happening , just perfect .!We did the ceremony it was really quite magical . I went home down the hill a little spent , I had all the emotional energy being released and began reading all your wonderful messages and I just felt so special , the wishes , and beautiful poetry that people sent just made me cry . There have been ups and there have been downs but reading those messages makes it all worth it !
